Family Values

Now that I have Baby Yeji, I've been thinking a lot about Family Values. She is getting baptized soon, and the Pastor had asked to really sit down, think, and discuss our core family values. She was a newborn (well, she still is a newborn..) and I think that was my husband's first week back at work so we didn't have much time to mull it over and discuss it. Plus, when I notice when I discuss things with church people, I tend to make things very church-y. I definitely want to be God-centered, but now I want to be more real about what are my values.. and what am I modeling for Yeji and my other future babies? Am I doing a good job building good character? What is good character? Those are all questions I've been asking myself.

1.) Follows God's directions upon all else.
-Reading the Bible, able to remember key verses in times of question and need.
-Memorizing Verses
-Depending on God by taking quiet moments to be prayerful. To be still, and know he is God.
-to be confident in God above all else, when all things fail

2.) Education
-being readers and writers
-keeping up with current events
-being wise and thoughtful

3.) Health and Fitness
-Eat wholesome and healthy foods.
-Make exercise, moving and fitness a part of life.
-really developing at least one athletic endeavour.

4.) Creativity and the Arts
-taking time to practice art and music
-taking time to appreciate art and music
-really developing at least one artistic endeavor.

5.) Love People
-to be wisely generous
-to be selfless and care for others less fortunate
-to be wisely understanding and forgiving
